From AI to tokenisation: inside the NextGen Treasurers Bootcamp
What does NextGen Treasury look like?
AI and tokenisation are two of the most talked-about developments in treasury. But what do they actually mean for treasury professionals in practice?
That was the focus of the recent DACT NextGen Treasurers: AI & Token Bootcamp, hosted at Orchard Finance.
It was a packed day designed to move beyond the buzzwords and explore how new technology is already changing treasury.
From data foundations to practical AI
Bart Verweij RT opened the programme with a look at Airwallex’s treasury transformation. He shared how the organisation is moving towards a more programmatic treasury model, supported by stronger data foundations and practical applications of AI.
Next, Joseph Gesnouin, Deputy Head of AI for Transaction Banking at BNP Paribas, explored the practical implications of artificial intelligence and what treasury professionals really need to understand beyond the hype.
During the afternoon, participants moved into focused breakout sessions covering:
- Tokenisation in Corporate Treasury – Zanders Group
- Stablecoins & the Legal Landscape – Clifford Chance
- Introduction to Agentic AI – Orchard Finance
- AI for Investment Research with ASKB – Bloomberg
Building with AI – live
The final session took the practical approach one step further.
Together with BNP Paribas, participants explored the use of AI in financial analysis. Rather than simply discussing what AI might be able to do, the audience worked with the speakers to build and refine a dashboard using Claude in real time.
It turned AI from an abstract concept into something tangible – and showed how quickly treasury technology is developing.
The day ended with a Meet & Greet and plenty of opportunity to continue the discussion.
A big thank you to Orchard Finance, Zanders Group, Clifford Chance, BNP Paribas and Bloomberg for helping us make the day possible.
