DACT Academy Brings Science and Practice Closer Together

The DACT Academy 2025 delivered two extraordinary days filled with insights from leading economists, academics, journalists, practitioners, and promising students.

Day 1 opened with a warm welcome from DACT Chair Maaike Vermeulen and sponsor Rabobank, followed by three keynotes:

  • Prof. Dr. Dirk Bezemer on the future of the pax dollar.

  • Prof. Arnoud Boot on financial innovation and banking disruption.

  • Martin Visser on where the next financial crisis may come from.

The first day concluded with the DACT Thesis Award Ceremony, sponsored by Treasurer Search, celebrating outstanding student research and announcing the winner.

Day 2 started with the DACT Run and continued with:

  • Arthur Brand exploring the world of art fraud.

  • Gerrie Lenting sharing the latest trends in payment fraud.

  • Dr. Henk Oosterhout and Albert Hollema discussing the link between Private Equity and Corporate Treasury.

  • Dr. Marilieke Engbers on boardroom dynamics and the invisible risks of power.

The event closed with proud participants receiving their certificates. A fitting end to an inspiring and knowledge-rich Academy.
