Karolina Poziemska Crowned Winner of the DACT Thesis Award 2025
The DACT Thesis Award at the 2025 Academy celebrated the brightest minds in treasury research, proudly supported by Treasurer Search. This year’s award showcased ambitious, forward-thinking work that pushes the boundaries of the treasury profession.
First place went to Karolina Poziemska for her thesis “Integrating ESG Principles into Treasury Operations: How Can Treasury Departments Effectively Integrate ESG Principles into Cash and Liquidity Management Strategies?” Karolina impressed the jury with a forward-thinking, highly relevant exploration of how ESG can be woven into one of the core responsibilities of today’s treasury teams. Her work offers not just theory, but actionable pathways for treasurers looking to make responsible, future-proof decisions.
Second place was awarded to Ben Schlautmann for his thesis “Is Global Diversification Beneficial or Destructive for Firm Value?The Role of Economic Policy Uncertainty”. Ben delivered a deep and timely analysis into the value effects of global diversification in an increasingly uncertain world.
And the third place went to Dorothée Brand for her thesis “Greenwashing and Firm Value: The Moderating Role of Corporate Governance in Controversial versus Non-Controversial Industries”. Dorothée tackled the sensitive and essential topic of greenwashing, shedding light on the decisive role governance plays across different industries. A nuanced study that adds important insights to the sustainability discussion.
The three winners impressed the jury with research that is both timely and highly relevant to today’s corporate finance landscape. Their theses are now available in the DACT library.
